I like the Surge's chances this season, but I worry about their passing game. They've got a top-flight QB, but they don't really give him much to work with downfield. They'll be able to pound a lot of teams into submission with that ground game, but if they run into a tough defense they may not be able to turn to the passing game to win the game for them. I'd also be concerned with their defensive secondary, where they're young and have no standouts. They can be beaten in the air. I do agree that the Falcons are overrated. They look good on paper, but paper isn't where you play the game. Some of those highly-ranked players have given up necessary skills to get a good overall rating. Those weaknesses will show up on the field. I'm glad the Dawgs are being overlooked, though. It means they won't see us coming. Overall, I don't see a lot of separation among the teams in the league. There are a lot of contenders, each with their various strengths and weaknesses, and I think it'll be a very competitive season. Well put. Our WR's are chit as of now, although Brad Steeves will imoprove after I sign him. Our cb's, while aren't elite, are average. They won't be able to stop someone like Boomer Sooner or Reggie Williams, but I have no doubt about most WR's in the league. |

Deron Lucas has a good shot to win OROY because he has been given the resources necessary to success. He has some good weapons to work with downfield, and was later given the financial resources to improve himself in personal training. The irony is that those resources are almost identical to those originally proposed by myself to Falcons management during pre-draft negotiations... numbers which I was promised the team would never accede to.
In any case, I found myself on the more visionary squad, and couldn't be happier. I've also been treated to the same advantages as Lucas, with a good investment by my GM and a veteran group of targets. In a way that puts more pressure on me... if the passing game doesn't move in Orlando, the fault is all mine. I look forward to the challenge. I'll take pride in moving my team downfield against Los Angeles in particular.

I think the LA Haters need to chill out......just because we have a couple cocky players doesnt mean our team automattically is bad......btw i believe Wilber and Summers are the #1 and #2 highest rated linebackers in the league but correct me if im wrong here

Vince: The Falcons are trying to corner the market on cocky aholes. If you talk to much they'll start trying to trade for you and convert you to fullback. Neither of us wants that.
