T'Jay Smokes will get 4 million next year and 4 million the next year. Smokes otherwise would've been able to opt out of his contract at the end of the year and become a free agent.

I wanted him on my team to take over for Ray Smith. Yeah, I figured that teams would be interested and start offering him contracts to get him to opt out so thats why I got him to sign the extension early. And I knew you would be looking for him and i figured you would have plenty of cap and I didnt want you having a dominate defense and a dominate offense.

Do we have a rule about tampering with players currently under contract? If not, we probably should. Nobody should have the right to negotiate with your player until he's no longer under contract.

There is no way to see that somebody did it. I don't think there is anything too terrible to tell a player that you are interested in signing them in the offseason.
