You're talking about the Atbash cipher It doesn't fit. It's not a standard Caesar shift either.

How can you crack it if there "may or may not be more letters"? You have to have the whole message in order to have any chance at decoding it.

But you've only got 9 letters to choose from. It's too small of a statistical sample to start extrapolating common-use letters from. The only halfway useful feature of your word is the double-letter combination, but that still only eliminates about a few letters as a possibility for that one. H, J, K, Q, U, W, X and Y are about the only ones that aren't used in double.
I've already plugged it into a website that does Atbash (a=z. b=y, etc) and one that does all 25 Caesar shifts (ex. ROT13), and none of the results are valid. So if this is a simple substitution code, you're going to need a large amount of print so you can start doing more analysis. For example, the most common three-letter code will give you the letters T, H, and E. Single-letter words will give you the values for A and I. Once you plug those in you can start figuring out some of the other letters as you observe them in context.
If it's not a simple substitution code, you're wasting your time.

Without further analysis, I could just say that it's any word that has a double-letter combination as the second and third letters, with nothing else repeating. The first word could be "treebark," or "brooding."

Classified Information for members of the revolution only.
Guys - just a quick update. I've recruited a staff member to join our cause. I think this page is secure, but to be safe I've encrypted the name as per our usual standards. ewoiiqaru.
And thats what you get after you figure everything else out....just need to crack the code

Judging from what I read on that link (only a little bit) look at the staff members and find one with a double letter.
