I was thinking of haveing some players since ther isnt room on any teams to have some of them play in collge untill we get some more teams in here, to lighten the load and give more people chance to play and come out of free agency or minors. So what do you guys tihnk if i have like a small college version of this league that connects to the FSl. Like NCAA to MAdden. What you think?

I'd love to have a feeder system for the FSL. As it is, I think we lose too many players while they're waiting to join a team. Almost every player I took in the last rookie draft turned out to be inactive.

i think this is a good idea if the minors can't get goin like it should. but i really think those of us that r active should be runnin the minors if it be the minors like has been runnin or a college system like ur suggesting either way it needs to stay active

If the minors isn't being done...then there's not point in doing the NCAA. I'm going to try to sim some games (unofficially) to see how I like it. Then, if everything is kosher, I'll add my name to the list of Minor League Sim games. That also means that we will need people to step up and Keep track of stats for minor leagues and the whole shebang.

Yeah, if it's just going to be on this site with these people participating, it shouldn't be on NCAA. It should be the minors as we've set it up. Keeping it a minor-league system on Madden means we can get more people helping out, because more people have the software.
Both Madden 05 and 06 will be acceptable to sim in the minors, so this gives some people (hey Diop!) an opportunity to sim who don't have the software to do so for the big league.

I was thinking we should simply create a seperate league for the minors, and be able to send players to and fro at will to the two leagues. There's simply nothing for the minors to do. If they have their own league and discussion boards, then they have something to do while they wait for the draft.

Creating a second site sounds like a good idea...but we can always add boards here for the minor leaguers. The reality is, we need more people stepping up to the plate to keep the minor leaguers ineterested. Otherwise, what you have is a second site drawing people away from this one. That doesn't do anyone here any good...and if the second site fails, then you have even more frustration on the part of those who signed up.

What I had in mind was that the site is run by people from here, like Bearfan and Capt, and that it is not a completely different league. From the construction, it would be made clear it is the minor leagues for another league, and it is not the big leagues.

The reason there is nothing for the minors to do is because nobody is stepping up to the plate. If we have enough ACTIVE people, we can (potentially) create more expansion teams. That would help them out. We need to (as has been discussed elsewhere on this site) get rid of the inactive people. This will allow for more of the Active minor leaguers to have a chance. After that, if there are still enough people (and interest is high enough, plus GM vote and yadee yadee yadee) then we can create another (or 2) expansion team. For now, we have to manage this in the most expedient manner.
Branching out only thins the ranks down, allowing for far more problems than solutions.

If they have their own league and discussion boards, then they have something to do while they wait for the draft. I have no problem with the idea of pro teams being able to sign players and send them to the minors, but we have to be careful with that. If every team signs the first active guy and sticks him in the minors, we won't have a draft pool.

Keeping the minors here reinforces the relationship between this league and the minors. The big leagues are supposed to be the ultimate goal of someone in the minors, and it'd be better for all around if they're integrated. The GMs get the chance to get to know the players, and the players get a chance to get to know the league and the teams. I don't like the idea of a separate board.

I don't think it can work that way because we won't have a draft now if we drafted people and signed signed FA then we could send them to the minors but then that would change how a FA would work because right now it is when you create a player after the draft you are a FA but for my idea to work they would have to wait until the next seasons draft and people would leave cause there isn't anything they can do.
