You didn't invent fried fish. Several countries claim to have invented chips, and yours is one of the more dubious. And India invented curry.

The US actually invented some foods we generally credit to other countries, like:
Pizza - pizza as we know it bears little resemblance to the authentic Italian dish it derived from. They call it New York style and Chicago style for a reason. And then there's all those cool California variations...
Fajitas - made in Mexico? Try Texas.
Chimichangas - ditto.
