The Surge win the toss and elect to receive.
Kickoff taken by Vick deep in the endzone... he takes a knee.
1+10: Handoff left on the counter... Kelley stuffs him for a short gain.
2+8: Vick up the middle... makes a nifty slide step to the right... runs over Brazell on the tackle attempt... and gone! Hawaii opens the game with a 78-yard touchdown run!
PAT is good. 7-0 Hawaii.

Kickoff taken by Wise at the 11... runs into Ray Smith at the 27. That guy is a special teams machine.
1+10: Conway drops back... dinks one over to Bush on what would be a WR screen if there were anything but white jerseys around him... he comes to the ball to make the catch... turns the corner... finds a seam... and he's gone! Holy schnikes! John Smith was just camped out next to Bush on that one, but when Bush moved to the ball, he forgot all about him. There were plenty of other defenders in the area, but they left him just enough of a lane to run straight through! 73 yard catch and run for the touchdown.
PAT is good. 7-7 tie. This doesn't look like the kind of defensive battle that characterized the East playoff game.

Kickoff taken at the 5... Vick finds a lane... brought down from behind by Cromartie at the 37.
1+10: Vick up the gut.. Lewis stops him after 7.
2+3: Lipton drops back... launches one high and deep to the right... 2 defenders there with Morris... one defender bobbles the ball... it bounces to Morris... but he can't handle it either.
3+3: Lipton to pass... fires out to the left... Jackson makes the grab... but can't stay in bounds. Incomplete. The replays look like he might have gotten in, but the Surge don't challenge.
4+3: punt... Holt muffs it near the right sideline! He's got time... but he looks dazed and confused... Doc comes into the play... and he's got it!
Err... no he doesn't... he tips it just out of bounds before he can control it. Cougars retain possession.

2+8: Wise sprints up the middle... and he's got a hole! Reid finally catches up to him after a gain of 18.
1+10@49: Conway to pass... throws the quick out to Bush... off target.
2+10: Conway to throw... short one across the middle to Bush... he's got defenders in front... keeps running for the right sideline... turns the corner... gone! 51 yard catch and run! Several Hawaii defenders had a shot at him as he ran across the field... just terrible tackling there.

Kickoff taken at the goalline... popped by two tacklers at the 28.
1+10: Lipton to throw... blitz! Lipton throws it short... Tankian makes the grab... turns it upfield.. and has room to run... taken down after a gain of 16.
1+10@ 44: Handoff to Vick... blitz on! Vick has two blockers in front... they get past the blitzers... finally brought down just short of the sticks.
2+inches: Lipton to throw... blitz again! Jackson is in the backfield untouched... Lipton chucks one at Vick a couple yards away in the flat... Vick can't make the catch.
3+inches: Lipton to throw... fires the quick out to Speedy... he has enough for the first down... turns the corner... and it's a foot race! They finally bring him down from behind just before the 10.
1+10: Vick runs the counter left... Lewis isn't fooled and runs him over.
2+10: Vick goes right... runs over McPhereson to break the tackle... and walks it in! 10 yard TD run.
PAT is good. 14-14 tie.

Wait a minute... flag on the play. Holding on Battle. This one comes back to their own 30.
1+10: Conway to pass... quick toss to the left for McPhee... he catches the ball and gets hammered by two defenders at the sticks.
2+inches: Conway drops back... quick toss to Bush... easy first down.
1+10@49: Wise runs right... breaks a tackle in the backfield... breaks another at the line of scrimmage... falls forward for 3.
2+7: Wise sprints up the middle... stopped by Schust.
3+4: play action... short throw to Bush... and he drops it. Shadowing him on the coverage is Schust. Total mismatch there. So not only does he drop the automatic first down, he drops a likely catch and run TD.
4+4: Punt... out of the endzone.

1+10@14: Wise runs left... huge hole... Ray Smith stops him just short of the sticks.
2+inches: Run left again... but the CPU DE blows this one up.
3+3: Run left once again... traffic... Wise very shifty as he navigates... gets a huge block by McPhee (decleater)... and he's in! 6 yard TD run!

1+10@ COL 41: Vick off right guard... Jackson hits him in the backfield... but can't take him down... and he's got another 11.
1+10@30: Handoff to Tankian lined up as a second fullback... nice hole.. rumbles forward for 4.
2+6: Lipton to pass... blitz! Lipton throws it up left with a man in his face... Jackson on the fly pattern... has a step... and catches it at the goalline! 25 yard touchdown pass!
Play-by-play man is moved at this point to say this one is hardly a defensive struggle.
PAT is good. 21-21.

1+10@23: No huddle... Conway drops back... throws it to Holt... four defenders there... knocked down.
2+10: Conway to throw... Doc comes in on the blitz untouched!... Conway throws it away.

Flag on the play... offsides on defensive end. So that explains that.

2+G: Lipton to pass... thrown to Vick in the right corner of the endzone... two defenders there to deny that.

2+?: No huddle... Conway talking too much at the line, they need to hurry up and snap it... drops back... fired left... nobody there but Bush! another pitch and run for him goes 66 yards this time!
