1. Chicago Sharks - David Manning and Boomer Sooner are now once again the premier QB-WR Tandem in this league. Manning is still proving to be MVP material, and he doesnt seem to be slowing down. The only problem is the lack off a running game, as Alex Watson has the lowest rushing total out of the starting HBs. Ladainian Vick was on his way, but an aborted trade leaves Watson as the primary back. They also have a solid secondary, with Xavier Young, T'Jay Smokes, Skyler Scarlin, and Robert Moos. This team definently is a sexy champion pick.
2. Orlando Dawgs - If Manning and Sooner arent the best tandem in the league, its gotta be DeBomb-Manery. Gino has done an exellent job turning the Dawgs around. He has the best QB Rating in the league, most TD passes and yards. Manery and Terrell Beast have helped with that. The acquisition of Fernando Garcia also took some pressure off them. Mike McKee leads a strong defense who are adapting to having HB-turned-CB Vince Mosca help out. Victor Cross is probably the best LB on the team. I don't think they'll make it to the LJB, but it wouldn't Suprise me if they did.
3. Thunder - The Thunder have surprised me, in a bad way. Getting rid of Doug Flutie and Fernando Garcia was probably a big mistake, as David Colon and Silver Fox don't look like very solid replacements thus far. Alex Lewis is now the leader on this offense, and needs to take charge, and make plays by himself. The defense, now without Kris Johnson, looks pretty poor, with Mike McComas and Jason Gap the playmakers. They're pretty weak at corner, with Mike Jones(who?) Mike Jones the leader. This team is still in the rebuilding mode, as they try to get Colon and Fox adapted into the offense.
4. Panthers - The better of the 2 Expansion teams seem to have fared well in this tough division. At 3-6, they have done better than people expected. They don't have much of a passing game, with Alex Morton having the worst Rating in the league. On offense, Ben Mott seems to be the only playmaker. On defense, DeSanaga Diop has basically locked up Defensive Rookie of the Year, leading the team in INTs. C.R. Van Whyje and Shaun Dangerfield also lead the defense. This team will obviously not make it this year to the playoffs, but they will fight to the end.
