I wish I were kidding. You can see it in the Falcons. Their season 2 budget went over by 1.5M, and they're carrying a 3M penalty in their season 3 budget.

You need to add 4 M to your budget, because 4 Mil of the 8 Mil was a bonus

Bonus have to stay in the Budget as salary is the only thing removed from a players retirement until next season...Bonuses are guarranteed money the team must pay him no matter if he is on there team or not........Falcons got stuck with that last year too

If a player retires in the middle of the season, it's up to you to decide whether to allow him to retire or not. If you don't allow it, he plays out the season for you, then retires at season's end. If you allow it, you recover all of his salary/bonuses for this season.

Incentives? I know for fact Miller earned 300k. All incentives earned in season 3 count against the season 3 budget.
