In an effort to inject some more energy into simming, we have made it a points-paying duty. Beginning week 7, simmers may earn 1 performance point for every 2 official sims. An official game is one which counts in the standings, stats, or postseason results. Exhibitions and games marked for re-sim will not be counted.
Yes, I realize that statistics are a much easier job, and shouldn't pay more points. To that objection I say this: statistics are open to everyone, and therefore any points payouts are equitable and fair. Simming is not open to everyone.
Points payouts for prior sims are under discussion, and a ruling will be made at a later date.

To that objection I say this: statistics are open to everyone, and therefore any points payouts are equitable and fair. Simming is not open to everyone. That makes no sense what so ever. The only way the league survives is to have games simmed. Thus...it's a much more important job. Anyone can record stats. Simming jobs should pay more than someone editing a post.

That's exactly my point... anyone can record stats. So if they don't, and their player doesn't benefit, then that's entirely up to the individual. It's equitable, because those points are available to anyone. On the other hand, we have several people who would like to sim who cannot, for various reasons... one may have the wrong software, another may not be able to find the time, another may be distrusted by one or more GMs, etc.
What does it do to competitive balance when we have 3-4 super players? Simmers are going to be your most active people, and as such they'll have some of the best players in the league anyway, whether they get simming points or not. If you're overly generous in simming points, those top players become unstoppable forces of nature.
This gives an incentive to performing sims, encouraging people to find more time to do them and more people to join in, without upsetting competitive balance leaguewide.

What was I thinking...you're right again. Obviously this was well thought out.

This is like opening a law firm, paying the runners $10.00 an hour and giving the lawyers minimum wage. lol

We've had a couple weeks to argue about it in the commish office, so I can't take all the credit. And... this isn't the first time the issue was brought up in there. It's just the first time it wasn't resoundingly shouted down. Now that we've increased demand for sims with 8 teams and have opened it up to more people, it makes more sense to do it.

No wonder he keeps doin it If my memory serves correct he did this one time before and didn't get what he was trying to get which was a permanent ban of Leroy Jenkins. It should also be mentioned that virtually everybody wanted the same thing. And if you were trying to get one of the weirdest avatar's ever you got it.
