I agree. Sharks also have to pay for their kickers for Season 3.

I agree. Sharks also have to pay for their kickers for Season 3. Thats bullshit, just because you guys didn't remember what Da Bearfan said season 1 doesn't mean that we should be punished.

Capt put it best when he said kickers aren't furniture. You don't pay for kickers up front and keep them until they wear out. You pay for them every year because they play for you every year.

Here's what I think we should do. We buy kickers for two years at a time, and must stick with those kickers until the contracts are up. We can redo the kickers this off season.

A change would be nice, at first it sounded good but then as we go along this kicking thing seems to get worse. There is no way that the Sharks can be punished, we followed the rules and you guys just didn't pay attention, thats not our faults.

Since I really can't remember what I said in season 1, we'll just go to my new plan unless anyone has any objections.

If that's the case, then the Falcons should not have had to pay for a kicker that year. Now, this is important since this would mean we would either not be in the red, or not as much, which translates into some money for this season, since the penalty would be removed.

We have nothing but hearsay to go on here. Adding my own, I seem to recall from season 2 that the ruling was kickers, just like any other computer players, must be purchased every season. In fact, it seems to me that everyone except Eielson shares this recollection. Furthermore, kickers have always been listed as just another store item, and it has always been established that teams cannot carry over store purchases from one season to the next.
We had 6 teams in season 2 which were run by players from season 1, and five of those six purchased kickers.
As for the new proposal, I don't see what purchasing kickers for two year periods gains us. We could accomplish the same thing by cutting their prices in half. A high school kicker and punter at 1.5M for one season seems like quite a bargain. You get two well-skilled players for the same price for three mediocre linemen.
I propose that we pay for kickers every season, because it makes the most sense, and it's most consistent with past league practices. But the Sharks have gained an unfair advantage by not paying for kickers last season, which means that money was spent elsewhere. Yet because we can't prove the policy either way, I don't recommend punishing them. Rather, I recommend we level the playing field by exempting every team except the Sharks from carrying a charge for high-school kickers for this season only. Teams may use high school kickers for free, or else they can upgrade and pay only the difference.

We could do that, but wouldn't it be better to just drop the expense of last year's kickers and give them that extra money to spend this year? Especially with the Falcons case.
