Then please explain it to me. I understand you're saying he forfeits his pay for the following year. That tells me that the following year, he receives no pay. No pay is less than 500k, the league minimum.

I don't recall any detrimental behavior clauses in the minimum salary cap rule.

I think Gino has a valid point. The only way that you can have the clause take effect, and still meet the league rules would be to suspend him for a year with no pay. If that's what you mean by the contract you've set up for him, then it's ok. Otherwise, the contract is in violation of league rules.
