Flash to wednesday morning.....
I made varsity
Lunchtime.....
Some kids started a food fight, and I threw what was a on my trey, turkey chunks and gravy....
I got called down to the office, but that was just to ask me if I knew who started it and stuff....
night practice.....
The coach had a bunch of letters in his hand as he was giving this speech right away, about how angered he was at the school administration. I didn't get it until he handed them out, 19 in all. I was on of the 19 along with 6 other varsity players.
Wanna know what was on it?
A letter saying that we wouldnt be allowed to play any sports for the rest of the year, because we had embarresed the school and some dumb reason about how it wouldn't be tollorated.
Now our basketball team is screwed, but thats not even the big deal to me, its I have to miss golf, going from a chance to make state with 3 holes left and getting the captains job for this year to off the team.

Oh. At least you've got 2 years left. Just continue practicing basketball during the winter and golf during the spring.

I threw what was a on my trey, turkey chunks and gravy.... you complain, but you still threw food. It's not like you were wrongly accused, you chose to participate. If I were you, I'd be thankful it wasn't a more serious punishment. In my school, they count a food fight like a regular fight or a riot, call the local police and hand out suspensions.

I wouldn't expect anything less from Travis. *grin*
On a side note....I got suspended in highschool with Kenny Wayne Sheppard for stealing lunches. Back then, his name was Kenny Bropes or something like that. Cant remember the correct spelling. His dad was a local radio guy named "shotgun" Ken Sheppard. *grin*

It does seem a bit excessive...but you were still in the wrong. I always did my best to avoid trouble like I avoided the plague.

Stop complaining. You embarass your school when you do things of that nature. Grow up and you given a great punishment. Ungrateful female dog.

Come on guys, yeah he was in the wrong and he was rightfully accused but this was just too much. 19 players kicked out of sports for a whole school year just for a food fight? Make them clean it up, suspend them for the first few games of the season and they will learn from it. You have Pacers throwing punches (not turkeys) at fans who don't even get suspended for the whole year.
I don't think that this school really cares about their sports. If I was a talented basketball or talented in another sport I would be transfering to a new school. Playing a sport can be a positive thing for your kids but even more than that their school system doesn't seem to realize that these players are making you money. They aren't getting money but how well they play will effect your income. If you have a high school team that doesn't win any games you won't make much money, you could even lose money through a sport, if they win a lot you could fill those seats and you would make a lot of money.

That is true Eielson. Our school income is so good in basketball season that our coaches installed a new system to where the students can buy this tee-shirt for 3 dollars and get in all games for FREE! It is called the MCE Blue Crew, and there is a section that is lined out for just them and they go crazy during the game.
After the first three games last year, we got a report from the state for being too loud and need to try to calm us down a little bit. LOL, we go crazy.
But, anyways, it may be a little to serious to kick your players out. Like in my case, I nailed Varsity in our great squad who is seeded #1 in all 4 tournaments. Well, we are 5-1 right now(lost our first game to the undefeated Spokane team) Well, I got late to practice last Wensday and got my Varsity jersey tooken away. Now, I don't have a jersey right now, but my friend Craig has two jerseys. They are trying to decide which jersey I will get back. So, lately I have been working my ass of and getting compliments.
But, when I said it was funny above I was talking about Leroy posting a BOO HOO! picture when he makes a thread about having too much stress..LOL
