Hey everybody, this is Johnny-B here giving you your Weekly top 10.
Around this league we have some players doing some great things. I'm going to tell you who's the best...and why!
#10 B. Sexxy, TE, Sharks This might sound like a biased pick over the much heralded T. Beast...but here's the facts. He's a tight end. He has to do more than just catch the ball. He leads all TE's in the league with 4 TD's (double that of the next best on the list). He's also a force when others have the ball, as evident by the 10 pancakes on the season. His 19.33 yards per catch are second in the league for all TE's and keeps him at average with the leagues WR's (a combined 302 catches, 5982 yards...for 19.8 yards per catch)
#9 T. Smokes, FS, Sharks 39 tackles. He is a hard hitting tackling machine out there for the sharks. Not only does he lead the league in Tackles, he leads the league in TFL at 4. He has Forced a fumble, he has sacked the QB and he breaks up the occasional pass. This is a John Lynch like player who would rather you catch the ball...so that he can hit you! And you won't find a harder hitting guy in the league! He is the best Safety on the second best defense in the league!
#8 K. Jackson, LB, Cougars 25 tackles on the season is good for 3rd in the league. 2 TFL ties him at second with half the league. 1FF and 1 PD doesn't sound like much...but the league leading 6 sacks puts him up there as the fiercest Pass Rusher in the league.
#7 B. Sooner, WR, Sharks He is 13th in the league in total number of receptions. He is 4th in the league in total receiving yardage. But, he scores. Of the 13 catches he has on the season, 11 have gone for TD's. 11!!! He leads the league in Yards per Catch (34.7) while second place is over 6 yards behind him. He is 4th in YAC in the league as well.
#6 J. Wise, RB, Cougars He leads the league in Rushing TD's with 10. He is third with carries (94) and Second with Yards (673, 2 behind the leader). As if that wasn't enough, he fields punts/KR for the number one special teams return (194.8 ypg) unit in the league. Number 2, Hawaii at 158ypg. For you mathematically challenged, that's a difference of 36.8 yards per game. Plus, he has only fumbled the ball once in all of his touches. Only one back can claim to be better in the league in that statistic.
#5 J. Smith, CB, Surge Tied for the league lead in interceptions with J Gap at 4, he is a monster on defense. He's broken up the most number of passes (9) in his conference and is tied for the 2nd number of tackles by a DB in his conference. He's a huge presence all over the field.
#4 K. Johnson, CB, Thunder His mouth is big, but his stats back him up. He has stopped 11 passes on the season, Intercepting 3 of them (and returning 2 the other way for 12 points.) When he's not stealing the passes out of the air like a WR, he's stopping the opposing WR's from catching them (8PD on the season to date.) His ability as a return man is what has put him over my #5 pick!
#3 R. Lipton, QB, Surge He leads his conference in ALL passing categories except for Attempts. A QB Rating of 124.1 is an absolutely eye popping number. He leads the league in Completions, Completion % and Yards Per game (at over 300) Throwing to the most dominant WR in the game helps...but the passes still have to get there. This has become a very classic Daunte Culpepper vs. Peyton Manning type battle...where inany other season, he would be the surefire #1 QB in the league!
#2 B. Steeves, WR, Surge
There is no more dominant WR in the FSL today! He leads entire league in Catches, Yards, TDs, YAC and leads his conference in Yards Per Catch (a Jaw Dropping 27.77) He is averageing 171.8 yards per game receiving and has only dropped one pass all season! When your worst game of the season is 6catches, 128 yards and a TD...you're dominating the DB's in this league!
#1 David Manning, QB, Sharks.
This isn't me being biased, this is a pure and simple fact. He plays the single most crucial position in football, and he's the best at it (going by his 130.7 QB rating.!) Keep that number in mind. He's thrown 21 touchdowns to only 3 interceptions. He's strong armed and accurate. (His Specialists have combined to drop 9 passes on the season!)
We'll see next week how much this has changed!
