Hey everybody, this is Johnny-B here giving you your Weekly top 10.
There many compelling arguments last week regarding my Top 10 in the league. Not enough defensive players. No Falcons. The problem is, there isn't a whole lot of defense going on. If there was, then how is it we have 2 WR's with double digit TD's. In a league with 6 starting QB's, two are WAAAY above 100 QB rating, and one is just underneath (DeBomb @ 93.3) And if you don't think a TE doesn't belong, give me a reason why not...and I'll make you eat your words.
Around this league we have some players doing some great things. I'm going to tell you who's the best...and why!
#10 B. Sexxy, TE, Sharks
14 Catches going for 5 TDs (leads all TE's in that number.) 11 pancakes. He just makes defenses look stupid. He's second in the league (behind Beast) in Yards per game and YAC...but outproduces him in every other way.
#9 M Landrum, FS, Falcons
Another DB who is all over the field. He's either where the ball carrier is (34 Tackles) or where it's going to (10 PD's). Plus, he knows how to make plays (as shown in his FR and INT)
#8 K. Jackson, LB, Cougars
37 tackles on the season. 6 sacks (still league lead) and 2 TFL. He spends a lot of time in the backfield with his opponents.
#7 T. Smokes, FS, Sharks
This tackling machine leads the league in Tackles with 45. That's right, no LB or DL has close to his numbers. On top of that, he's forced 2 fumbles and has 4TFL (tied for first in the league). He's a playmaker that's always around the Ball carrier!
#6 K. Johnson, CB, Thunder
His mouth is big, but his stats back him up. He has stopped 11 passes on the season, Intercepting 3 of them (and returning 2 the other way for 12 points.) When he's not stealing the passes out of the air like a WR, he's stopping the opposing WR's from catching them (8PD on the season to date.) His ability as a return man is what has made him my #6 pick!
#5 B. Sooner, WR, Sharks
His numbers are (somewhat) more human as he now has 18 catches for 13 touchdowns. His YPC has slipped to second in the conference at 25.3 (behind J. Mond's 25.9) The fact is, he's a threat to score every time he touches the ball! He's the most Dangerous WR on the Second best Offense in the league!
#4 L. Vick, RB, Surge
My last #1 RB caused quite the uproar...but with L. Vick not giving the ball away, and helping the Surge to a heroic win over my sharks, it's clear he should be the #1 Back. It wasn't just his running, because the Surge have now become the #1 return team in the league, making up that huge difference in stats that had originally put J. Wise in the top spot. Complain all you want about the # of Surge players in the Top 5 (or 4), but they are, Hands Down, the best Offense in the game! Any doubters should see their Game 6 final drive!
#3 B. Steeves, WR, Surge
There is no more dominant WR in the FSL today! He leads entire league in Catches, Yards, TDs, YAC. He has looked freakishly human (as opposed to Godlike) these last couple of games, but, unless another WR steps up their game soon, he's the #1, #2 and #3 candidate for ROY and could end up being the OPOY! When your worst game of the season is 6catches, 128 yards and a TD...you're dominating the DB's in this league! He is still averaging 163.3 YPG, which is over half of the passing that goes on in the most dominant offense in the league.
#2 R. Lipton, QB, Surge He still leads his conference in ALL passing categories except for Attempts. His QB rating has jumped to He leads the league in Completions, Completion % and Yards Per game (at over 300) Throwing to the most dominant WR in the game helps...but the passes still have to get there. This has become a very classic Daunte Culpepper vs. Peyton Manning type battle...where in any other season, he would be the surefire #1 QB in the league! His late game heroics certainly were enough to bring him up a spot...but this is a player top ten...and his stats just don't quite compare.
#1 David Manning, QB, Sharks.
He is still the #1 player in the league. The Sharks may have lost their last game...but it wasn't because of D-Manning. He threw 6 more TD's without a pick in a losing effort to the #1 team in the league, the Surge. His QB rating has skyrocketed to an astounding 140.6! Were it not for a late game breakdown of the Shark's D...(21 seconds left and they couldn't hold the surge!) the L would have been a W!
