The Gms will have to talk it over but I don't think there is enough interest for those positions

Well it might bring more members or might have some Minor League players/back-ups converting to a new position

The Gms will have to talk it over but I don't think there is enough interest for those positions There's already several people in this thread that have expressed an interest in wanting to play other currently non-allowed positions. Besides, what's the magic number? How much interest is required to allow people to play a particular position. Why can't it just be one? What's the harm if there is only one human player at a particular position?

Diop-DT Ryan Pope-K so far that is not enough, if there are more people that I am not aware about let me know. Can you please: 1) let me know why you are counting 2) specify the magic number 3) explain the harm to the league if some number less than your magic number are allowed to play non-traditional positions Thanks! The reason I want this explained is because currently this policy seems totally arbitrary without any actual thought process. If there are valid reasons why some random human can't be a long-snapper, then I'll certainly accept them. But so far, none have been offered in this thread. Hey Capt!!!!! Where you at? Let's get the voice of reason in here or are you still waiting for the dust to settle?

they had those positions in season one, nobody wanted to be those positions, so they got rid of them. They have to have enough to fill most of the positions that is wanted. Thats how it it was when they got rid of those positions, I joined in season 2. So if you want to know more you will have to talk to somebody who has been here since season 1

my proposal for kickers
if u want to be a kicker u must followe these rules:
- if u want to change position u cannot take att's of KPW or KAC - if u get bored of position dont complain. deal with it - u cannot retire ure player so u can change position. if u retire ure player u must wait two full seasons b4 getting a new 1 (unless its another kicker) - u should get like 100 poits to use
just putting sum ideas out there. also linemen, the reason we dont have them is bcos more ppl would be dlinemen than olinemen. this would mean that we could have fast, strong awesome DEs against terrible computer olinemen. i dunno what we could do, maybe u have to recruit an olineman if u wanna be a dlinemen and vice versa. either that or u can cr8 one of each, but i think that would be unfair.
what do ya think?
also i would have been a DE if possible

Hey Capt!!!!! Where you at? Let's get the voice of reason in here or are you still waiting for the dust to settle? Still formulating my opinion. To make any change like this would require some rather significant changes in the way we do business in this league, so I'm being careful to think some of that stuff through before I wade in. For example... let's say we just let Bashum make his kicker. How good is he allowed to make it? What are the points for performance? What do the other teams without human kickers do? Does the current CPU kicker salary system put him at an unfair advantage/disadvantage for the league? And that's just the one change. To open up the other positions would add a slew more. Ultimately, I think someone will have to convince me that the value of adding these positions is worth all the effort it's going to take to basically rewrite the league rulebook.

Read Capt's and thats why! It isn't worth it to add positions when it would only add chaos. If we add a team or two next season you will start in the positions everyone else took on the old teams. Just wait it out or play now.

it needs to be decided tonight!

Why does it NEED to be decided tonight? We still have a lot of season 3 left, and if we decided to do any of this, it would be such a significant change that we couldn't possibly implement it until season 4.

Why not just wait until next season before making another player? Neither one will be allowed to sign a contract until the end of this season anyway, unless Kris decides to cut you loose.
The decision was made in the Commish office right after Trav retired and created another player. If you're not happy with your team you have ways to address that, including holdouts and trade demands. Retirement was never meant as a mechanism to leave your team and get in with a new one, and it really screws over the original team, who built his plans on having the retired players around for the season and beyond.
So we decided that if you retire and make a new player, the GM may elect to continue to play out that previous player through the end of the season, at which time it will be permanently retired. And if he does so, because you're not allowed to have two active players in the league at the same time, you're stuck waiting around until the next draft before you can be on a new team.
So TE or K, either way, you're waiting for season 4... unless Kris does you a favor and cuts you loose early.
Trav was notified of this ruling, and this is what made him decide to end his retirement and hold out instead... which made a trade possible.
