On Friday, Feb 2nd (yes groundhog day) my son was born. he was 7lbs 2.8oz and now i know y fathers always say that they couldn't explain the feeling they got when they saw their kid for the first time. its the greatest feeling in the world, no word can explain it. hopefully i can get to be active again soon

Welcome to the daddy club. If you don't know what I mean by that right now, you will soon enough. A few trips to the grocery store with the little shaver will clear it up.
My first moment with my kid in my arms was very special, but it takes very special planning to make it that way. Over the last few months of the pregnancy I'd read to my kid in bed every night, and every night I started it by announcing "daddy time" with the same phrase, spoken the same way. After she'd been squeezed on for three days (thanks to the ***** incompetents at Kaiser), a hose jammed up her nose and throat, yanked out into the bright and cold, and jabbed with needles, she was letting the world know that she was not happy to be in it. Then they wrapped her up, put her in my arms, and I spoke that same phrase... silence. She just stared at me for the longest time.

Capt O, did something very similar with my 2 youngest. Was (essentially) deployed for first two. Now, the youngest two are a daddy's little girl and a daddy's lil man! Mine was singing though instead of reading. To this day, they sleep best when I sing to them (no matter how horrible it actually sounds!) lol

i can't find the thread, but baker talked about how he was going to be a daddy since he screwed some chick he barely knew. It was back in August or maybe September, but I can't find it.
