What this does is it addresses the loss of Allan Miller. Terrell Beast, great team player that he is, has agreed to shift over and play some WR for us. He'll make a perfect compliment to Manery over there, and we'll be able to get him the ball more. Irwin comes in to replace Beast at TE.

Well that presents us with quite a quandary, actually. I spent quite a while looking over both players, and while they both make excellent fullbacks, they each give something away in the receiving game as a TE. Namely... Smith can't get open, and Irwin can't catch.
After careful consideration, I decided that, despite lots of opportunities for drops, the one with the better speed was going to be able to break a few plays, giving him the better opportunity for growth at that position.
