1. Ohio Thunder (4-1) - The Thunder have won four straight games since their opening day loss to the sharks. This week, they avenged that game with a convincing 38-7 win. They have taken the outright lead for first place in the league after having a three way tie just two weeks ago. Their running back, Fernando Garcia, had a break out game week five and earned offensive player of the week honors. Their defense remains shut down, and it appears this team has very few weaknesses.
2. Chicago Sharks (3-2) - Chicago lost this week, dropping their #1 spot in the power rankings. Their offense, has averaged more then 25 points a game up to this week, only managed to score a lone touchdown. Their defense has been getting progressively worse as well (averaging giving up an additional touchdown each week) had it's worst game yet, giving up 38 points.
3. Hawaiian Surge (1-4) - The Surge recorded their first win of the year, against the Los Angeles Explosion, who crushed them the first week of the season. It seems fortunes have reversed. This is the first week all season they have been ranked anywhere but last in the power rankings. Their running back, Ladainian Vick, who was said to be the best running back before the season started, has come out and proved it. He is leading all runinng backs in touchdowns, and although the stats are not in yet, is thought to be among league leaders in rushing yards and carries. He has carried this team on his back so far this season.
4. Los Angeles Explosion (2-3) - Despite a better record then the surge, the Explosion are on a terrible streak. They have lost three games in a row, and the latest was to the only team who hadn't won a game before this season. They need to correct this slide fast, or fear not making the championship. Also, their #1 pick in the draft, Reggie Williams, needs to improve from this week. It was his worst of the year, and they need him to be clicking like earlier in the year if they want their offense to be productive.
