Welcome to the superbowl special, Im you host Trav Man. Lets get right down to it. It was cool 59 degrees out there but that didnt affect the players motivation out there. The Thunder Muscled out the victory in a 24-17 Lead led by 155 yards and 3 touchdowns by Fernando Garcia.
The Thunder defense seemed to have a strangle hold on RB of the year Ladanion Vick only allowing him 80 yards and forcing 2 fumbles. Lipton Played his heart out and was one of the bright spots for the surge, but 180 yards wasnt enough to get over the hump. The thunder had 50 yards more on offense.
The real story in this game was defense. Both teams held their oppents passing games down, but the surge slipped up on stopping the run and thats what cost them the ball game. Surge star reciever Brad Steeves was held to 31 yards recieving. While Kris Johnson lived up to his mouth shutting him down and leading his team in tackles.
Its all going to come down to the next game, can the surge get it back on track or will the Thunders defense strike them down again. Tune in tomorrow for the results.
