We need a rule about retirement. Maybe if you retire you can not play in the big leagues for the entire next season. Your player would be limited to playing in the minor leagues for 1 full season.

Or maybe your new player only gets 100 points to start with and then after your first season, you get the rest of your points.

Not needed. Bearfan introduced a rule this season, after the Trav retirement, that if a player quits on his team like that, the team can continue to play that player through the end of the season, and the player can't have a new one come into the league and get signed until the original one is done.
That rule convinced Trav and Bashum both to come out of retirement, so I'd say it's working just fine.

Actually my trade convinced me to come out of retirement...I was holding out till eiether what happened, or I could retire
