This game against the Cougars here is all about pride. We Dawgs have established ourselves as more than some doormat expansion team by taking games from the Thunder and the Surge, the teams with the best records in the league. We've beaten the Falcons, so we've taken games from 3 of the 4 established teams. We've earned a lot of respect around the league for that, even though we find ourselves with a losing record and a longshot at a playoff position.
But there was that Week 1 loss to the Cougars, in which we played pretty badly in all aspects of the game. We've come a long way as a team since then. But if we want to hold our heads up high and say we belong with the best teams in the league, we cannot let them sweep the season series. We have to win to keep our playoff hopes alive, but more importantly, we have to win to keep our dignity intact. The Dawgs are going to come out with a lot of bite in this one.
