The Boston Red Sox officially announced the signing of japanese pitche Daisuke Matsuzaka, who will wear number 18.
Matsuzaka is expected to be at the head of a rotation that includes Himself, Curt Schilling, Josh Beckett, Jonathan Papelbon, John Lester, and Tim Wakefield
If that rotation isn't incredible, i don't know one that is.
he will also be pitching for this lineup, listed as in hitting position:
1. Julio Lugo 2. Kevin Youkilis 3. David Ortiz 4. Manny Ramirez 5. J.D. Drew 6. Mike Lowell 7. Jason Varitek 8. Coco Crisp 9. Dustin Pedroia
it's amazing, isn't it? Any comments?

That japanese pitcher was excellent in the World baseball classic against MLB players and had a great career in Japan. He is also only 26. I think he'll be great.

Hes only 26 but he pitched A LOT of innings in his young life And the WBC means nothign, hitters werent used to his gyroball and all his other pitches-- Just like almost every other japanese pitcher he might be good for a year and then everyone will start hitting off of him

He doesn't have a gyroball. The gyroball doesn't exist outside of a Japanese robotics laboratory.

I watched highlights of him on Youtube, and I saw a pretty good slider (not K-Rod good, but very good) and a 92-mph fastball that he can't keep down in the zone. MLB players are going to force him to spot the slider, get him behind in the count, and crush that fastball.
