Probably because you were a Falcon when your player was originally created. When you were traded to the Cougars, someone on that roster already occupied 85, so it automatically assigned you 81 instead.
One of the reasons we post these is so you guys can catch the errors and we can fix them. Otherwise, it's necessary to audit every roster for jersey numbers, and that's really not worth the effort. Jersey numbers on the roster files never mattered anyway, until Mule introduced us to the wonderful world of video sims.
