Now we go to our field reporter,Tye Williams, currently in Chicago, who has been asked the following questions.
1.Who do you think will win MVP?
I know many people think Fernando Garcia is the easy choice here, but I believe a new MVP will be crowned this season, and it is none other than La'Dainian Vick, RB, of the Hawaiian Surge. The Surge has become a force on offense, and Vick will be it's leader. Ryan Lipton has dramatically improved, although his receivers are not quite potent enough to be the focal point of the Surge attack, but it will be enough to open up some running lanes for Vick. I'm expecting a big season from this young superstar.
2.What player will surprise people this year?
I'm not being biased, but I feel Ra'Shaun Salaam, WR, of the Los Angeles Falcons, will suprise a lot of people this season. He might not have the best skills, but he has fire and heart like I've never seen. He reminds me of Keyshawn Johnson a lot. Add to the fact he plays alongside of one of, if not, the best WR in the game, Reggie Williams, and it stacks up even better for Salaam. Undervalued on draft day and underestimated on the field, he may be the biggest suprise of them all.
3.Who is the best player in FA this week?
The single biggest signing this week had to be the Orlando Dawgs picking up Joey Sweetness, MLB. He was the best linebacker on the market, and was even better than #1 pick DJ McMickle. Orlando GM Mike McKee has done an outstanding job building his franchise, and they will be competing for a playoff berth from Week 1 on.
4.Give me a prediction of FBSIM Championship game?
On paper, the two best teams are the Chicago Sharks and the Hawaiian Surge. The Sharks are, in my opinion, the best team in the league. The core of their team returns, and they have had a good offseason, giving them the most complete team in the league. The Surge had some key losses, but have managed to fill their holes and their existing core has greatly improved. The league is going be be very competitive this year, I don't think any team will have that great of a record this year.
5. What will be a surprise team this year?
The Hawaiian Surge, no question about it. No one seems to remember just how well they finished off last year, and who they've gotten this year. They are now more of an offensive team, but their defense remains solid despite the loss of premier CB Mike McKee.
6.Any rumors you hear of trading players and what you think of it
Despite being signed, Jarrett Mond, WR, is apparently stilll concerned about being shipped out. He is a great talent at WR, but his weakness is that he lacks awareness. However, I think he will stay with the Falcons. He is simply too good a talent to just jettison away. He will most likely have a slow start to his career, but I expect him to absolutely explode in a year or two.
On a final note, I would like to announce I have volunteered to be a sort of welcoming committee for this league. If anyone, newcomers and veterans alike, has a question, PM it to me and I will be happy to assist you. I also plan to answer some questions on the air, and help with everyone. That's all for tonight, this is Tye Williams signing off. Stay classy, FSL
