Hello everybody, I am here today with the GM and RB of the Los Angeles Falcons. So here to the questions....
1.) After a crushing loss against your rival Surge, do you think the team can bounce back and pick up a big win week 1?
- The loss was tough, our team had already been through a lot this year, and this was another tough blow, but real teams come through tragedy and triumph. Because without pain there is no gain. I think we have a good shot at our Week 2 game against Colorado. We have more experience and depth, we should be able to pull off a strong win. Our defense will have to step it up and the offense perform well, and a lot of the offense is on my shoulders as the running back, I was also disappointed with my play in week 1. Look for the Falcons to come out strong and take this one, it will be a good game, win or lose.
2.) What is a realistic goal for the Falcons this year?
Our goal is to make it to the FSL championship game, win or lose it will be a great accomplishment to make it there. With everyone saying we can't make it, much less win it, it will be sweet when we pull together and make it. Our other goal is to simply win, we need to bounce back today against Colorado and win, it will be a huge boost for our team morale.
3.) How is Mickey Landrum looking so far?
- Landrum had a great workout today, we are very happy with this acquisition. Landrum is a ballhawk, most people thought we should have taken him in the 1st round instead of Holbrook, but both players are great athletes and performers, but everything worked out and we got them both. Landrum will be a positive influence in the locker room, he has a no-lose attitude and will be a defensive presence, he will be one of the top blackshirts.
4.) Are you happy to get me out of LA?
- It wasn't a matter of being happy, we felt that Landrum was a better fit to our organization. You were a great locker room guy and a good teammate, and of course, a great blackshirt. If I can ever get you back, I will gladdy receive you back to the organization.
5.) Do you think with me gone the problems with the organization?
- You were never a problem in my eyes, you just were very confident and expressed your opinion widely. The problems in the organization were not your fault and I will not go pointing fingers.
6.) After a great exhibition game do you think you could do that in the real game with all the pressure?
- I sure think so, I feel psyched up about todays game and am ready to perform! Our team is ready to break through that barrier! I wasn't happy last year, rushing for only 787 yards, I have a personal drive to surpass 1,000 yards and 7 touchdowns at least. So look for me to be racking up yards!
7.)What the status on Wilber Davis? are you going to keep him the rest of the season then let him walk or are you going to try to deal him?
- I am trying to deal him to the Surge, but nothing is going down at the moment. Wilber simply stole 3 million from me and is going to walkout on me and the team. Wilber and me were tight, but he has simply turned into a pure jerk.......I won't comment farther.
8.) How do you feel about getting to play one last game with me?
- It should be one to remember and I am very happy to get another game in with you, hopefully you take it to'em! I am sad we have to let you go, you were a great guy and player and the team will miss you!
9.) How is the team reacting to my departure? are they happy or upset?
- So far I have not reached them for comment, I am sure it will be mixed emotions, as you can imagine. The team liked you, but like I said before, Landrum is a better fit.
10.) How many yards do you think you will end the season with?
I think I will end up with around 1200 yards, my goal is to reach 1,000 yards but I have the ability to reach 1200 and I think I will finish up there.
11.) Who is your early season pick for MVP?
LaDainian Vick, by far. This guy is amazing, he runs over, around and on top of people, he is by far the best RB in the FSL. He has a great team around him and his team is set up for glory. Watch Vick explode this year and rip up defenses, it will be historical.
12.) who is your early season pick for Offensive Rookie of the Year?
- I think it will be a close race between Deron Lucas and Brad Steeves. Steeves has been very impressive so far and has the potential to be a pro-bowl/hall of famer. Lucas didn't have a good first game, but by coaching him, I see things not many other people see in him. Look for Steeves to light it up and Lucas to pass all over defenses.
13.) Who is your early season pick for Defensive ROY?
- Well, I like Tyler Holbrook, but I think Robert Moos will pull it off. Moos has amazing ability to guard WR's and is going to be the DROY. Most people will by far disagree with me, but just you wait! Moos is going to haunt WR's on game day.
Great show Pat! thanx for having me on today!
Baker: Your welcome, great interview and good luck with the rest of the season!!
