Hello once again, I'm your host, Tye Williams. This will be a short show tonight, as the Leroy Jenkins Bowl will be underway at 1 AM Eastern Time, and today was a rather slow day for the FSL. Regardless, it's still my job to report what went down in our lovely little league. So, let's get straight to it!
Polls for the FSL Player of the Year awards officially opened today, and votes are starting to pile up! Controversey is also piling up as well, as the polls for Best Safety will likely be scrapped due to old stats being used for the East DBs. Regardless, Shawn Dangerfield was the leading vote getter. So, let's take a peek at the rest of the categories!
Defensive Rookie of the Year: The leader is the Orlando Dawgs' #1 CB, Peyton Carter. He was a top corner in his first year, and his highlight of the year was being the first to shut down the seemingly unstoppable Brad Steeves. Yours truly cast his vote for Carter, one of the 5 he has.
Rookie of the Year: The leader is none other than Brad Steeves, the Surge's go-to guy all year. He became not only the best rookie WR, but the best WR in the league! This was really a no-brainer. Steeves also leads in Offensive Rookie of the Year and Wide Receiver of the Year.
Cornerback of the Year: Currently leading is John Smith, formerly the nickel back for the Surge who ascended to the #1 spot late in the year. Putting together amazing stats, he currently leads by a wide margin, three votes ahead of the nearest contender. Yours truly requests if you haven't voted yet, you consider Tye Williams.
Running Back of the Year: This won't even be close. "The Gamebreaker" has literally run away with this one. The only votes Ladanian Vick hasn't received are pity votes, and that's saying something.
Quarterback of the Year: This has been a tight race, but it seems the winner will be David Manning of the Chicago Sharks. That's not suprising, but the fact that someone wasted a vote on Jimmy "Airmail" Conway sure is.
Linebacker of the Year: As previously reported, Ty Summers leads in a veeeeeeeery tight race over Mike McComas. Both are very deserving of the award, and if you haven't voted in this one yet, well, what are you waiting for? The Summers' Camp earned my vote, as he was a huge disruption in the backfield on a more consistent basis than McComas or Kamau Jackson.
Tight End of the Year: Voting seems to have come to an end, and the winner is Big Sexxxy of the Chicago Sharks! Congragulations on a great season and your sig making skills from Tye Williams and 101.4 The Explosion!
Fullback of the Year: This one hasn't been close either, and it came down to one crucial stat: Pancakes. Dave Wilt of the Orlando Dawgs is the runaway winner at that stat, and has run away with FB of the Year. Well done, old chap!
And now what you've all been waiting for...
Most Valuable Player: Voting is still taking place, but leading David Manning by three votes is none other than Ladanian Vick. John Smith also is in the running, trailing by four votes. Only 13 votes have been cast, stay tuned tomorrow night for an update!
In related news, Los Angeles Falcons ILB Trav Man has been awarded the Joe Jackson Sanity Award. Congragulations?
