Hello, and welcome once again to Explosion Nightly. I'm your charming host, Tye Williams. One would think it couldn't possibly be a bigger day today than it was yesterday with the Thunder being crowned FSL champions. And you'd be right. But today was important none the less, with the final game of the year being played today. That's right, the Pro Bowl! It was a great contest, but it didn't seem like it would be at first, with the East storming out of the gates:
1st down - Handoff to Fernando, he goes left, finds some open room, and runs the entire 78 yards for a.... Touchdown!!!
The East continued to roll, and found the endzone yet again:
2nd down - Manning steps back, throws it deep into the endzone, and it's... Caught! Manery makes his second catch in a row for a... Touchdown!
The West, however, wasn't going to just roll over, and they pushed back:
2nd down, 1:30 left - Lipton steps back, throws it into the endzone, and it's... CAUGHT! Torry Holt beat Scarlin to get to the back left corner of the endzone for a... Touchdown!
After a last second field goal by the East, the score was 20-10 in favor of the East as the game turned to the battle of the backups. The West, down by ten, stormed right back into the game:
2nd down - FB fake, HB toss, Wise gets some great blocking again, and the defenders are fooled by the fake, and gets an easy run all the way for the... Touchdown!
1st down - Conway steps back, throws it left, and it's... Caught!! Fitzgerald with a great catch to beat Van Wyjhe for 6!
However, this late comeback was thwarted by the mighty left boot of the East kicker, who won the game for the East, 26-24. Further continuing his dominance of the league was Fernando Garcia, winning MVP honors for the game. Congrats to all the participants, you are the best of the best!
And now, it's time for what we do best here at the Explosion. That's right, it's time for our world-famous News Tidbits from around the league! No more wasting time, let's get straight to it!
Los Angeles Falcons WR Ra'Shaun Salaam has held another press conference, in which he expressed his high hopes for his team for next season. We bring you this feed from the conference:
Salaam: Well I Ra'Shaun Salaam.......Slot Receiver would like to say that We didnt finish where we wanted you will be hearing from me in the post season in the in the Jenkins Bowl III And I will bring it to LA. And if anyone disagrees they can go kick rocks with your face. Im out......BANG!!!!BANG!!!!!! King KONG AINT GO S&IT ON ME!!!!!!!!!!!
Minor leaguer Adam Simms called out Salaam and his team, and a brief confrontation broke out. We have a feed of the result:
Salaam --> <-- Simms
Bravo, Ra'Shaun, BRAVO!! Loyalty does indeed have a place in this league, folks!
Unemployed MLB Trav Man has begun fielding offers for his services. He indeed got the bidding war he wanted, however, they were sarcastic offers from people who so happened to not be GMs. The highest official bid for Trav Man is a one year, $5 (yes, a whole five dollars) deal. It should sufficiently provide food, clothing, and shelter for the duration of the season. The Surge, on the other hand, have requested Trav's services in keeping their bench warm for important people. However, he would have to fork over $500k for the privilige of being in their awesome presence.
It might be serious, it might be a joke, but it's definetely a spectacle in it's own right! The Prospects v. Falcons game will be simmed on August 10th by Ty Summers. Team GMs, if you want to see any specific players in action against true FSL talent, you are to PM Ty about it.
Whoa, hold on! We've got some breaking news coming in from the news room! We go LIVE to a streetcorner near you to speak to... TRAV MAN!!
Trav: Goodbye watch this is going to ban me for speaking my opinion so peace.
Banhammer --> <-- Trav
And the world dies a little on the inside. We here at 101.4 The Explosion would like to bring you the following message:
Can't we all just get along?
More hot news, folks. Torry Holt has hit the free agency market, and will certainly attract a lot of attention. He will begin fielding offers immediately after the expansion GMs are announced. He is arguably the top FA to hit the market this offseason. LeRoy Jenkins is another big name who may hit the FA market, as he will apparently be testing the market. More to come tomorrow, as free agency officially does not begin until after BOTH expansion GMs are announced.
And, ladies and gentlemen, that wraps up another addition of Explosion Nightly. Hopefully you enjoyed yourself tonight, as I had to type this up twice, which is why it's up later than usual. But that's dedication for you all out there. Explosion Nightly is for your enjoyment. This is Tye Williams signing off, cheerio!
