n00b sim question!

How do you sim a game and then do the PbP like i've heard some people do?

write it down on paper, then type it

I'll watch the game and cover three sheets of paper front and back with gibberish like:

1+10@39 - pa r deep #81 pd #32

Then when the game is over I'll come to that entry, look up jersey numbers, and turn that into:

1+10@39: Play action... Conway throws it deep down the right sideline... Reggie is under it... knocked away by Carter.

I just do instant replay and such to get the names off the jerseys and do drive summary under stats for exact yardage ect.

It's much faster to just look up the jersey numbers. That's why we've got a jersey numbers thread in each team's area. I'll open those up into other browser tabs while I'm typing up the play-by-play. The only pitfall is that once in a while I'll look up a number on the wrong team's post, and if they have a player with that number, I report it wrong, and someone always catches me on it.

I never look at replays or any of that stuff, I do plenty of test sims and stuff in my off time and I can just tell who is who and well I just guess on the yardage and stuff

I never look at replay, I always look at the drive summary thing.

I never look at replay OR drive summary. I just write down the starting position for each 1st & 10. If someone really has to know how many yards a big play covered, they have enough information to figure it out. Otherwise, that's what stats are for.
