Im trying to work on my college application essay right now and need a little help.... I took accelerated classes and got by with a B to a C+ average( Ill find out for sure what my GPA was next week) and I scored pretty decent on my SAT's ( 570 reading and 560 math)
But by got by I mean never studied and always handed stuff in late and sometimes not doing homework at all which I now regret...
What I need help is on my essay the only thing I can think about writing is how much I have heard the word "Potential" over the last 4 years and how I regret working harder and I could have done better.... Would Colleges frown upon this essay or should I try adn write something more positive?

write something more positive. even though i'm only in 8th grade, i can tell you that. i took the SATs last year, and by the averages on that, i'd say you're about 40 points above average for each subject. so you shouldn't have a hard time finding a college that wants you.

Imagining myself in the place of a college admissions officer, I'd find a paper on such a topic to be a refreshing change of pace, an indication of a student with an honest heart and a sincere commitment, and exactly the kind of person I'd want in my school.

Thats the reaction Im hoping I will get because this is most likely what im going to write about since it describes me more than anything else and I feel like I can write better about something thats been on my mind lately
