These are just temporary, and most likely will be changed in the future. These rules are also effective immediately, and all players who've retired in the past are not included in this rule.
If you retire, your player will finish out the current season with his team. However, you may create a new player immediately if and only if you are a free agent at the time (or if your previous team released you). You may unretire once in your career, and if you retire again your player will be gone forever.
If your player is retired and you have already created a new player, then your player will remain retired forever.
