Alright this is complete bs, i was not informed at all about this trade until now, Wilber and i agreed on a no-move clause a week ago when he was GM. Besides he only traded my player's rights to the cougars, so i officially retire for good now. I wanted to come back for 1 more season but since laferety foolishly traded me away without caring at all, thats done it for me and now both the surge and cougars wil miss out on having me for the season. I will retire but as a Surge, i am not retiring as a Cougar and thats final. Sorry to everyone about this retiring confusion but if I was informed about the trade earlier I wouldnt have come out of retirement. So long for good everyone, and GL!!!!!

Steeves is officially retired, and may not come out of retirement.

Since the season has started you cannot retire until the end of the season. He plays for us this season.

He was already retired when you traded for him.

The Cougars are attempting to exploit a loophole in the retirement rules. If a player retires during the season, the GM may elect to keep that player through the season and allow him to retire at the end. However...
1) The player in question was retired already when they traded for him. 2) The player in question has not played a single game for them. 3) The team in question has not yet started the season.
I don't see how the rule applies here.

KC Jones can't create a new player and he was on the team before the season even started
Also the season has started, though not neccisarily for the team but the league as itself has started, and as soon as he unretired he was in Cougars possesion, then he retired.. during the season

KC Jones already has a new player. Check the Sharks for his new WR. But yeah, he only left after the Cougars agreed to release him. However, the Cougars did invest a draft pick in Jones, and Jones was not retired at the time of the draft.

Anyway, it's pretty obvious here that if Steeves had known of his situation, he would not have come out of retirement. His unretirement indicated he had no interest in playing anywhere else.

And had Cougars not allowed KC Jones to be released he would have had to play the season because the Cougars wasted a draft pick, a wasted draft pick is a lot less valuable Coli Ortega and Marion Bush who Cougars used to get him
Also to Wilber, that's his fault for going on vacation and not keeping up with the league

He hasn't played a game in S4 yet, so let him decide. He came back for a full 2 days or so
at the time of the trade the Cougars knew the risk of the trade because at the time Steeves was still retired

He has a life and went on vacation, I don't expect anybody to check in while on vacation. Bearfan never checked in through all of S2 because he was on vacation.

Besides, just because the season started, doesn't mean it started for everyone. For example, Silver Fox only just posted his purchases, yet he's going to get those points to start in week one. Meanwhile, my guy Woodson had to play his first game without his purchases despite getting them in two days sooner. This illustrates my point... the teams who have not yet played a game still have the luxury of getting ready for their first game, a luxury the teams who have already played do not enjoy. If we were simming a whole week in 1-2 days it wouldn't be an issue, but we're not.
The Cougars are still getting ready for the season, and should therefore be considered to be in the offseason.
