The Orlando Dawgs officially usher in the offseason with the first blockbuster! Linebacker Chris King has been signed to the following contract:
S4: 5M S5: 4M (GM option) S6: 3M S7: 3M
This follows an investigation in which Chris King has been discovered to have been sorely neglected by his former GMs. His conversion from DE to LB was never taken care of, and his season 1 purchases were never added to his player. In addition, King brings 1M in unspent cash from season 1 incentives, 4M in cash from season 2 salary, and 8 unused performance points. The Orlando organization will work closely with him to restore him to his proper place in the league, to our great mutual benefit.
Welcome, Chris!

There has been no official ruling on retirement dates. Plus, Cwizz did not play in season 3, and was buried on the Falcons' depth chart in season 2 (hence you'll find no stats on him), so it can be argued he's only going into his second season.
Another item to think about... team training. His player has never been updated with that, so he'll get a full rookie training camp with us.

But CWizz has money for S2, therefore he atleast has 2 seasons under his belt.

Also, is there any official list of FAs or draft eligible rookies yet?

Not yet. Anyone whose contract is complete is automatically a free agent today, but anyone with a team or player option needs the option to be declared.
This was a special case. Since King was already a free agent, there was no reason why I couldn't negotiate with him beforehand. All the guys whose contracts expired only just now expired, so talks can only just begin.

How and when did Chris King become a free agent? Here is his contract: 3 years, $11M 1: 3M 2: 4M3(you choose): 4M He never posted that he declined his Season 3 option, and if the Falcons cut him, they didn't take the cap charge in Season 3.

King was a free agent since the close of season 2. The ruling for player options was that if a player did not overtly declare he was picking up his option, the player became a free agent. My team lost FB Dave Wilt that way. Chris King has been a free agent for a full season.

Ah, so he had another player page. Bonus.
This one has 190 points allocated, which works out to:
125 for DE 40 for rookie training camp 17 for S1 personal purchases 8 for S2 training camp ===== 190
That still leaves him with: 1M in incentives from S1 contract 4M in cash from S2 salary 8 unallocated performance points for S1 stats 15 unallocated attribute points for conversion to LB

Don't sign yet. We need to officialize a few things before FAs can sign still. Also it has only been less than 2 hours, so wait for a few more offers.

Wilber: We don't have anything to officialize. Free agency is open when the Pro Bowl is over, and the Pro Bowl is over. Other teams have had a whole year to negotiate with him. Don't be a bad loser just because I found something you hadn't seen.

The one thing I thought we needed to officialize was who the FAs are. Originally CWizz had made a new player. I remember that there was a deadline that a option had to be picked up by. So all Options that are not picked up as of the end of the Pro Bowl, all of those players are now FA then.

Sorry, I haven't seen a post by Da Bearfan or another Commish opening free agency, free agency can't begin until all players/GM's have either accepted or declined their options for the following years, wich hasnt happend....thus free agency hasn't began ;D
