No way. That would turn into a mess. We'd have to remove all those attribute points, then add them back in later.
If a player is fined by his team for holding out, it'll come from the following season's salary.

yah, but say baker gave himself the 8 million like this year bought all his attributes and then held out, next year his contracts less so he gets penalized less than what he spent

I have a question.......
I will use Holt as an example.
Say he holds out this year....does he become a FA or does he have to stay on that team till traded/contract runs out? Like in the NFL if a player holds out they dont play or get paid but they also cant sign with antoher team till there contract obligation with there originall team is up.....is that how it works here?

The way it would work is, if you signed with another team for 4M, but you owed 4M to the Wolves as a fine for holding out the previous season, your new team would still pay the 4M, but you wouldn't get to spend it. That money would transfer to the Wolves.

No the holdout rule states that at the end of the season they can leave, its just how it works...It has flaws but nothings perfect!

thats retarted. how dumb is this: ur rewarding the player for holding out. i mean cmon, thats rediculous. if u wanna hold out, pay the price (12.5 million in holts case, if he remains holding out ;D)

Actually, the holdout rule says they'd re-enter the draft pool at the end of the year.
That seems odd. I think that rule might have been written to specifically address season 1 draft choices who didn't want to sign with their teams. Methinks it's time to review that one.

well, if u do hold out, this would happen
next year salary-5 mil (fined 4.5 mil) year after that-5 mil (fined 4.5 mil) year after that-4 mil (fined 3.5 mil)

i believe i only get fined the next year salary because i become a free agent after the holdout. so it will be 4.5 fine.
